The design and implementation of an innovative chatter control system in our CNC Machining Centers based on Artificial Intelligence has been completed.

We bring state of the art research achievements in our production line

 The innovation concerns the development and integration of a smart sensor in our CNC Machining Centers, which records data of the chatter caused to the machines during cutting.

With the help of artificial intelligence, the algorithm processes historical chatter data and alerts the respective machine operator when he needs to intervene and change the cutting conditions in order to avoid an accident.

This avoids tool breakage and piece loss, increasing productivity, eliminating material losses and reducing the energy footprint of our machine shop.

The above project is part of our company's strategic development plan for the digital upgrade and automation of production processes and was completed within the framework of the European Program AIRISE - Artificial Intelligence in Manufacturing for Sustainability at SMEs.

 

AI specialists provided comprehensive training to our operators enabling them to interpret the results generated by AI ensuring the efficient operation of the project.

At the same time, the collaboration between interdisciplinary teams from the fields of artificial intelligence, big data science and machining, ensured the holistic approach to the project and the comprehensive integration of Artificial Intelligence at both technical and operational levels.
